METADATA
Metadata is everything about the music on your album except the music. This mainly applies to the mp3 and m4a (aac) format for digital distribution. Besides all the basic info and graphics another part of this is ISRC codes (International Standard Recording Code), which is a unique code for each individual track. They are not mandatory but are helpful in tracking radio play, licensing for films/commercials and are helpful in royalty collections. If you want to apply for these go to: https://usisrc.org.
MASTERED FOR iTUNES
We can make your master technically ready for “Mastered for iTunes” . What this means is that we have the proper systems to ensure we are creating MFiT files to Apple’s standards. The “Mastered for iTunes” program allows you to submit files at 24-bit resolution and sample rates as high as 96k. (The typical iTunes quality is 16-bit, 44.1k). Please check with your digital distributor to find out if you’re eligible. (PS: we are not a MFiT aggregator).
ALBUM PREPARATIONS – CD
DDP is used for delivery of disc premasters for CD duplication. A DDP file allows us (you) to set all of the parameters for the CD such as the exact gap between each song, cross fades, level matching and other information.
DDP PLAYER
Download this software that allows you to play your DDP on your computer so you can see / hear how the CD would be.
Simply unzip the DDP and drag the folder into the box when you have the application open. Listen all the way through to the audio and transitions and let us know if it’s approved. You can also burn a disc from this application.
